Pdam Wound Healing

Haley is an undergraduate student working in the lab examining coral wound healing in Pocillopora damicornis. By artificially wounding small sections of the coral branches, Haley is going to observe the regrowth patterns of coral tissues over time. This project has applications in #coral #reef #conservation in the face of lesions from white band disease, overexploitation by predators or tourists, and breakage from storm surges. Over the course of a year and a half, Haley will continue to collect data to eventually present her findings for a senior thesis before her graduation in the Spring of 2019.
